APPG for SME Housebuilders Hosts "Unlocking Growth" Drop-In for Parliamentarians and Developers

The APPG for SME Housebuilders was proud to host a high-profile drop-in session at Parliament last week, bringing together the UK’s regional building community with MPs and Peers. The event provided a vital platform for the industry to share first-hand experiences regarding the challenges of housing delivery and the practical steps needed to help the sector thrive.

A centerpiece of the afternoon was the presentation of a symbolic "Key to Growth" 🔑, kindly provided by Carlisle Brass. This gesture served as a powerful reminder of the "doors" the APPG is working to open for small developers. We extend our sincere thanks to all the Parliamentarians who attended to engage with our members and learn more about the vital role SMEs play in their local economies.

Looking Ahead: The "Write to Your MP" Campaign The conversations started at Westminster will soon move into local constituencies. In the coming weeks, the APPG will be launching a ‘Write to Your MP’ campaign. This initiative will:

  • Encourage members to meet with their local SME housebuilders on-site.

  • Facilitate dialogue regarding the specific opportunities and challenges faced by developers in different regions.

  • Offer assistance to Parliamentarians in identifying the SME housebuilders currently operating within their specific constituencies.

A Stronger, United Voice We continue to invite all interested parties to join the APPG and participate in our upcoming events. This includes the next R&B Online Forum (Regional and Bespoke Housebuilders Forum). Founded by Edwin de Silva in 2020, the Forum has grown into one of the UK’s most influential platforms, bringing together almost 400 SME and regional housebuilders, developers, and industry partners.

The Forum exists to level the playing field, improve access to innovation, and ensure that regional builders have a stronger, united voice within the industry. We look forward to continuing this vital conversation in the months ahead.
